HISD Board - Votes 8 to 1 Against Sam Houston High School

Principle of Sam Houston High School listens while 23 speakers voice their concerns about the school closures.


Houston independence School District voted today 8 to 1 for the closure of Sam Houston, Kashmir High, and a middle school because of low performance. If these school do not show any improvements for the 2006-2007 school year they are subject to close. The meaning of what "close" meant for the schools was not clearly defined by the HISD board members. Further updates at a later time.
