A Special Salute to Veterans

DON'T FORGET OUR SPECIAL SERVICE WITH ROGER HELLE!
Somebody Cares America and Somebody Cares Houston are hosting a special salute to veterans during our worship service on Friday, November 9, at 7:30pm at the Sheraton Brookhollow Hotel (located at I-610 & Hwy.290). Joining us will be special guests Roger Helle, author of A Time to Kill, A Time to Heal, and retired U.S. Army Major General Robert Dees. The event will be held as a pre-cursor to Freedom Fest, a city-wide tribute scheduled for Sunday, November 11, in downtown Houston.

Roger Helle is a long-time friend of Doug Stringer and Turning Point Ministries. During his tour of duty in Viet Nam, Roger was hit by a hand grenade, shot twice, bayoneted, and left to die--but was miraculously healed as he called on the Lord. He now runs Teen Challenge in Chattanooga TN. Roger's testimony will bring you to laughter and tears while bringing healing to wounds of all kinds.

General Dees has received the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, two Distinguished Service Medals, two Legion of Merits, six Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Republic of Korea Chonsu Order of National Security. While in the military, General and Mrs. Dees served as uniformed missionaries with the USA Officer's Christian Fellowship (OCF) and the Association of Christian Conferences, Teaching and Service (ACCTS). He was recipient of the 2003 Centurion Award from the National Association of Evangelicals for long-term support to chaplains while in command positions.

Plan now to join us, and forward to all of your friends--whether they are veterans or anyone who needs to hear a message of hope, honor, and healing. RSVPs are requested for planning purposes, but not required.
